Great Hills

Austin Monthly, in the July 2015 issue, ranks Great Hills as one of the Top 10 Hottest Neighborhoods.  With boundaries of Spicewood Springs Road to the south, Hwy. 360 to the east and Hwy. 183 to the north and the rolling hills to the west, homes in the 78759 zip code can range from the upper $200,000 to the million dollar plus range.

"Developed mostly in the 1970s, ’80s and ’90s and full of many custom-built homes from more than a dozen builders, Great Hills homes are extraordinarily diverse in architecture and size. Situated just off 183 and 360, the quiet neighborhood offers a lush locale with easy access to major highways and plentiful shopping options at the Arboretum, including a Trader Joe’s, as well as eateries ranging from the upscale, like Manuel’s and Truluck’s, to the everyday favorites such as Newk’s Eatery and Blue Baker.

Popular among families and married couples, the area has begun attracting young professionals and older students thanks to its abundance of apartment housing. But if you’re looking solely for schools, keep in mind that depending on location, homes can feed into either Round Rock or Austin ISD.
